Vaishali Trivedi

Vaishali Trivedi is a solo Kathak dancer, singer, choreographer and a teacher based in Ahmedabad, India. Vaishali studied Kathak, under Padmabhushan Smt. Kumudini Lakhia, India's acclaimed kathak dancer and choreographer. She has performed extensively in more than 50 countries, in many theatres, festivals and events worldwide, including Khajuraho dance festival, Krishna Gaan Sabha, Chennai, Modhera Surya Festival ,Konarak Dance Festival , Biennale de la Dance in Lyon, France, Sziget Festival in Budapest , Hungary, Le Biennale di Venezia in Venice, Italy, Kremlin Palace theatre in Moscow, Russia , London’s South Bank Center, UK, Theatre National de Chaillot, Paris, Montpellier Dance Festival, France .

Vaishali has worked with the great sitar maestro Pt. Ravi Shankar in his musical theatre ' Ghanshayam' and also with, Pt. Birju Maharaj in the Festival of India in Germany at a young age. Recently she has done several collaborative works with acclaimed choreographers , to name , Kader Attou, Karine Saporta from France, Joachim Schlomer from Germany, Ivaldo Bartzzo from Brazil and other choreographers from Switzerland, USA, Pakistan and also TTB theatre group from Italy. Her Choreographic work has been presented in several countries including Kathak festival organized by Kathak kendra New Delhi, Timgard festival in Algeria, Valloubilis festival in Morocco, Brazil, Turkey, USA. Recently she directed a cultural show for Gujarat Government which involved 250 artists.


She was awarded Gujarat Sangeet Natak Akademi award ‘ Gaurav Puraskar ‘ in the year 2010. In the year 2005 she was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship in Arts, USA . She is a  top grade artist of Door Darshan, India and Indian Council for Cultural Relations ( ICCR), New Delhi.  Presently she is teaching and working at Kadamb, Center for Dance and Music, Ahmedabad
